COVID-19 Update: Dallas County Case Soars After Downtrend, Deaths Reach 755

Dallas County officials reversed four declining trends seen by the county, reporting four new deaths confirmed COVID-19 on Sunday and 843 newly confirmed cases.

On Saturday, authorities reported 540 new cases, the day before it was 422. The county last reported more than 800 cases two weeks ago, July 26, with an exact 800 cases.

The county has confirmed 54,674 cases since follow-up began in March, confirming 755 deaths. An additional 130 estimated cases were recorded on Saturday, bringing the estimated total number of cases in the county to 2,202. The four newly confirmed deaths included two men and two women, all of whom had serious illness at a local hospital.
