Vaccination could slow ageing, say researchers
Researchers believe that drugs used to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity may also slow the ageing process.
Semaglutide, better known as Ozempic, “has a much broader range of effects than we originally imagined,” Harlan Krumholtz, a professor at Yale University School of Medicine, said following the publication of some of the new research.

Dr. Benjamin Sirica, lead author of the study and professor of cardiovascular medicine at Harvard Medical School, said the findings “confirm that overweight and obesity increase the risk of mortality from multiple causes.”

The drug, which is a prescription medicine provided by the NHS and acts as an appetite suppressant, is sold under the brand names Wegobee, an obesity treatment, and Ozempic, an diabetes treatment.
It comes in the form of an injection and mimics the hormone GLP-1 to increase feelings of fullness and reduce hunger.
