Coronavirus: Ossetbed factory workers tested positive
Wakefield Council said it took “quick action” to address the outbreak
Four workers tested positive for coronavirus at a bed factory in West Yorkshire.
Osset’s Sleep Factory is the latest in a series of bed factories in the region that have been hit by the Covid-19 outbreak in recent months.
“We are taking steps as quickly as possible to limit the spread of the virus,” said the Wakefield Council.
“All cases are self-isolated,” said Public Health Director Anna Hartley.
Wakefield is classified as a “region of interest”, with the latest figures showing 14.2 positive cases per 100,000.
Bed factory workers are not considered to be at higher risk than workers in other factory environments.
Last month, outbreaks were reported at bed factories in Ribadge, Osset, and Batley.
“The bed factory focuses on working in the factory, not the industry itself,” said the Kirkleys Council, who was working on two incidents at the time.
