Rainy summer expected to worsen fall allergies in Minnesota

SAINT PAUL, Minnesota — Allergy season is fast approaching and this time of year is expected to be a tough one.

One in four people suffer from allergies every year, and regular walker Debbie Blotz is one of them, suffering from symptoms including “sneezing, watery, itchy eyes”.

Kelker says people can make efforts to prevent allergies.

“If you want to prevent allergies, the best thing you can do is use a nasal rinse or neti pot every day and take a shower every night, so you can wash all the allergens away,” he said.

These are some ways to stay healthy from the inside so you can be outside like Blotz, who says allergies don't hold her back.

Kelkar recommends seeking medical help if over-the-counter medications don't work.
