New Brunswick fine-tunes coronavirus alert levels as one new case announced Tuesday-New Brunswick
Just five months after New Brunswick announced the first case of COVID-19, New coronavirus, First in 4 days.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Brain Higgs and Dr. Jennifer Russell, Chief Medical Officer for Health, announced a new case of being in their 40s in the Fredericton area.
The cause of the new case is under investigation.
Currently, there are 7 active cases in the state.
Since the outbreak began, New Brunswick has reported 177 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 168 recovery.
There are two deaths in the Campbellton region of the state.
Mr. Russell said Tuesday that state public health officials have reviewed all state public health alert levels: red, orange, yellow, and green.

All regions of the state are currently at Yellow Alert Level.
Russell said authorities were fine-tuning the levels and amending triggers and rules ahead of the potential second wave of the new coronavirus.
Triggers relate to three areas: rural epidemiology, testing/tracking capabilities, and healthcare systems/hospital capabilities.
Russell states that if any of the three triggers overwhelm a particular zone, that zone will move to its previous alert level.
“I don’t want to shut down the state again like this spring,” said Higgs.
Another big change announced by the state on Tuesday is that daycares remain open under all alert levels.
Caregivers also remain part of the bubble, up to a single-family bubble with a red alert level.
The physical distance in the seated venue will also drop to 1 meter as long as the mask is worn.
