Three workers in a refrigerated warehouse in Auckland tested positive for coronaviruses, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections in New Zealand to 8.

The new case was diagnosed in a warehouse operated by the American-based company Americold.
Richard Winart, managing director of the company’s Australia and New Zealand, said he was working with a man in his 50s who had already tested positive for the virus.
He said that all staff at the facility were located in isolation.
Winnall also told ABC that in recent weeks there have been two positive cases of COVID-19 at Americold’s Melbourne plant in Laverton North.
However, he was resolute that the warehouses in Melbourne did not ship the cargo to the company’s Oakland plant, so the two facilities may not be related during the incident.
He said the Auckland facility received imports from 15 countries, including Australia, China and the United States.
