The researchers used computational “digital twins” of gene networks involved in cell differentiation to simulate and analyze complex genetic interactions. This allowed them to identify a key molecular switch that can return cancer cells to a normal state. Their findings were confirmed through molecular, cellular, and animal experiments.
Traditional cancer treatments often cause serious side effects and can cause the cancer to come back.
