Research reveals autism prevalence reaches 61.8 million people worldwide

Autism spectrum disorders rank high in global prevalence and non-fatal burden, according to a review posted online Dec. 19. lancet psychiatry.

Across the lifespan, DALYs were evident, occurring in children under 5 years of age (169.2 DALYs per 100,000 population) and decreasing with age (163.4 and 100,000 DALYs per 100,000 people under 20 and over 20 years, respectively). 137.7 DALY).
