Nutritional deficiencies may contribute to global measles outbreak: McGill study
A new study from McGill University suggests that nutritional deficiencies are contributing to the global measles epidemic.
Researchers from McGill University, the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health, and the University of Pretoria conducted a study of children in South Africa that found that despite being vaccinated, undernourished children were less susceptible to measles. They found that antibody levels were significantly lower.

They found that children who were stunted around the age of three had an average of 24% lower measles antibodies by the age of five than children of “typical height”.
