Angels – Health officials reported an outbreak of 84 patients on Thursday at 10 UPS facilities scattered across Los Angeles County.
“We continue to see outbreaks in manufacturing facilities, food processing facilities, warehouse environments where long-time workers are indoors together, and we don’t know if they have the proper personal protective equipment,” said a health officer in the County Dr. Muntu Davis. “Our outbreak management branch and environmental health teams are working on various (worksite) counties across the county to ensure that employers are doing everything they can to keep their employees safe. According to Davis, the outbreak was associated with facilities in Los Angeles, Bell, Gardena, Vernon, Cerritos, Schirmer, and Van Nice. UPS issued a statement at FOX 11 on Friday morning, stating:

Davis pointed out that a smaller UPS outbreak involving 10 employees occurred in June, but investigators concluded that these infections were likely to have occurred in the community rather than in the workplace. I attached it.
