State update: Friday August 14, COVID cases recovered to 2694, estimated 489, 2641 recovered.

The number of new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases confirmed on Friday increased from a record high of 67 cases to 2,694 cases.

The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) also reported 489 possible cases and 30 deaths. The state reported 40 recovery, 35 from laboratory confirmed cases and 5 from possible cases.

Today’s new cases have been reported in the counties of Albany, Campbell, Carbon, Crook, Fremont, Goshen, Laramie, Natrona, Park, Sheridan, Sweetwater, Teton, Utah, and Washaky.

It is defined as recovery when fever is resolved without the use of antipyretic drugs, respiratory symptoms (coughing, shortness of breath, etc.) improve for 72 hours, and at least 7 days after the first onset of symptoms.

County statistics

In Wasaquay County, 40 laboratory confirmed cases have been identified. The most recently confirmed case in the county was August 14. In the original cluster of 29 cases from May 15th to June 4th, most of the cases at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation resulted in 5 deaths and another death by a former resident of the facility Montana. Residents of A small amount of the original case was in the community. In the original cluster, all cases recovered on July 6th, the day before the latest batch of cases.

The Washaky County Public Health Department has informed Northern Wyoming News that it will not provide trial numbers in its weekly status report on August 10.

The Wyoming Department of Health has shown 49 cases of recovery, 44 cases from lab confirmed cases and 5 putative cases.

The Bighorn County has 33 lab confirmed cases and 4 estimated cases. WDH has 32 confirmed cases in the lab and all expected cases are listed as recovered. The latest case was confirmed on August 9. One death was recorded from a Big Horn County resident being hospitalized in another state.

The Hot Springs County has 20 lab confirmed cases and 3 putative cases. The latest case was confirmed on August 10th, 17 of the labs were confirmed and all are listed as recovered.

Park County reports 132 cases, 12 estimated cases confirmed in the laboratory. The latest case was confirmed on August 14th with a recovery of 96 laboratory confirmed cases and 9 estimated cases.

The governor implemented the new order as of August 15. This will allow a gathering of outdoor people with social distance guidelines of up to 1,000 people, as well as other amended state orders extended until 31 August.

The county is now in a modified Level 2 status.

As of Friday, WDH reports that there are currently 13 inpatients in the state. Natrona County reported five cases. Laramie County reported three cases. Each hospital in the counties of Carbon, Fremont, Hot Springs, Sheridan, and Teton reported one hospital admission. The state reported that three of its 180 ventilators in the state were in use throughout the state as of August 3, but it was unclear whether its use was associated with COVID-19. I’m not sure.
