Sask. Health officials are confirming a case of second measles with rapid current

The Saskatchewan Health Department (SHA) is identifying a second case of measles in rapid currents and investigating a third suspected case of a dangerous virus in the southwest region.

One case involves unvaccinated children, while the other cases involve two adults with unidentified vaccination status. SHA Medical Health Officer Dr. David Torr said infections may be related to international travel, but more local cases increase the risk of community communication.

The third suspected case has nothing to do with the first two cases, doctors noted.

Before this month, Saskatchewan had two confirmed cases of measles over the past decade.
