FDA's top vaccine officials have been kicked out

According to a resignation letter obtained by CNN, the head of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, responsible for ensuring the safety and efficacy of the vaccine, has resigned.
Dr. Peter Marks, director of the Agency's Center for Biological Assessment and Research, was given the option of resignation or firing. Marks' resignation will take effect on April 5th.
News of Marks' forced resignation was first reported by the Wall Street Journal on Friday.
“It has become clear that truth and transparency are not wanted by the secretary, but rather that he wants a subordinate confirmation of his misinformation and lies,” Marks wrote in his letter, referring to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services in the United States.
In an email, an HHS official told CNN: “If Peter Marks doesn't want to restore science to that golden standard and promote radical transparency, then under Secretary Kennedy's strong leadership, the FDA has no place to go.”
The FDA's Center for Biological Evaluation and Research is responsible for the safety and efficacy of biological products such as vaccines, allergic products, blood and blood products, cells, tissues, and gene therapy.
Marks helped implement Operation Warp Speed, the federal government's Covid-19 vaccine development program. He oversees more recent vaccine approvals, including the first influenza vaccine for self or caregivers and management, providing new options for protection from seasonal flu.
Marks' forced resignation and other recent moves by the HHS have drawn waves of warnings from health experts.
