Santa Clara County Opens Largest COVID-19 Testing Site in Northern California – NBC Bay Area
Santa Clara County opened a new COVID-19 test site on Tuesday in the Santa Clara County Trade Fair in San Jose, allowing 1,000 people to be tested daily by the weekend. You can scale up to 5,000 tests per day, making it the largest test site in the Bay Area.
The new site will be operated by the Valley Medical Center and will offer language services such as Spanish-speaking staff and dedicated lanes for those who may need language assistance.
The fairground will also be used for large-scale fall vaccinations in the fall, and the COVID-19 vaccine venue will be available when it becomes available, officials said.
“This testing ground has a one-stop opportunity for residents,” said Cindy Chavez, president of the Supervisory Board. “If the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available in the future, the county will need such a large service center. Vaccine. This facility will serve as a central location for serving residents throughout the county. I am very happy that it is in place.”
Currently, there are 10 lanes planned to be opened, but more are planned for the future. Most are used for drive-through vehicle traffic, but some lanes are also used for walk-ups and bicycle traffic.

Dr. Sara Cody, Director of Health, said: Drive-through test sites are suitable for residents with or without symptoms.
The county also has more than 50 COVID-19 test locations and rotates daily between different cities.
The county testing grounds are open to all residents, regardless of insurance or immigration status. No doctor’s notes or payments are required, but an appointment may be required.
