New Brunswick COVID-19 Update

Public health did not report a new case of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Currently there are 12 active cases. There are 11 cases in Moncton (Zone 1) and 1 case in Fredericton (Zone 3).

The last case reported in the state was Sunday. Two people in Moncton are self-isolated in connection with international travel cases.

Since the outbreak started in March, 186 cases of COVID-19 have occurred. The total number of people who recovered is 172. Two people died.

A total of 57,511 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the state.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the community, visitors and residents should remember the following:

• Maintain physical distance (2 m / 6 ft);
• Wear a community face mask if maintaining physical distance is difficult.
• Limit contact with people at high risk, such as the elderly and people with chronic health conditions.
• Clean and disinfect the high-touch surface frequently.
• Wash your hands with soap and water more than 20 seconds often, especially after using the bathroom and before preparing and eating. If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• When coughing or sneezing:
  • Cough or sneeze in a bend in the tissue or arm instead of the hand.
  • Dispose of used tissue in a lined trash as soon as possible, then wash your hands. And
  • Do not touch the eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
