Seven more cases of COVID-19 reported in the Waterloo area
KITCHENER-Public Health Officials in Waterloo Area Reported 7 more cases of COVID-19 Thursday is the highest daily increase for almost a month.
Back on July 23, public health authorities reported nine cases, which surged in itself. Otherwise, the seven cases on Thursday were the best since the end of June.
A total of 1,439 cases of COVID-19 are currently occurring in the Waterloo area, 1,280 cases have been resolved and 119 cases have died.
This leaves a total of 40 active cases.
At the Golden Years Nursing Home long-term care facility in Cambridge, there was still one active outbreak and one resident was diagnosed with the disease.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, test partners in the region have run 59,974 tests. Authorities update test numbers on Tuesdays and Fridays.
76 new cases of COVID-19 were reported statewide on Thursday, but 11 public health departments were unable to report the number due to a flaw in the reporting system, Health Minister Christine Elliot noted.
