Health officials reported 6 new cases and 1 recovery on Wednesday, 2 new cases on Tuesday, 2 on Monday, and 12 on Saturday.

Four of the cases reported on Wednesday and seven on Saturday involved people under the age of 19 who acquired the virus in close contact with confirmed cases.

During Wednesday’s COVID-19 media briefing, Dr. Chris McKee, a health care officer in the area, attributed the surge in cases to domestic exposure.

“Age is dispersed. Teenagers are under five, and they are really home contact situations,” he said.

“All of these cases are cases where there are other adults in the family who are most likely to have brought the disease to the family. If the adult is positive, the test is offered to the whole family. And that is why we go to pick up these little children. “
