Zero Middlesex and Sarnia Lambton Health Unit’s New COVID-19 Cases-London
No new person has responded positively to the novel Coronavirus Two recovered in London and middle sex, local health officials reported Friday.
The total number of cases in this region is still 719, of which 628 have recovered, the same number as the previous day. The death toll is 57, the same since June 12.
There are at least 34 known active cases in the area.
Both cases on Thursday involve people from London, Ontario. One is a person in their 30s infected with travel, the other is a person in their 50s, and the source is shown as “no known link”.
Health unit data show that people in their 50s are staff members of local nursing homes, but no outbreak has been declared.

Health officials reported 6 new cases and 1 recovery on Wednesday, 2 new cases on Tuesday, 2 on Monday, and 12 on Saturday.
Four of the cases reported on Wednesday and seven on Saturday involved people under the age of 19 who acquired the virus in close contact with confirmed cases.
During Wednesday’s COVID-19 media briefing, Dr. Chris McKee, a health care officer in the area, attributed the surge in cases to domestic exposure.
“Age is dispersed. Teenagers are under five, and they are really home contact situations,” he said.
“All of these cases are cases where there are other adults in the family who are most likely to have brought the disease to the family. If the adult is positive, the test is offered to the whole family. And that is why we go to pick up these little children. “

As of Friday, there were 141.7 cases per 100,000 in the region and 275.6 in Ontario.
The test positive rate for the region was 0.5% as of the week of August 9, the latest available figure. Ontario was 0.4%. The Health Unit tested 4,643 people that week.
London reported an overwhelming majority of incidents in the area — at least 666.
In other regions, 26 cases have been reported in Strathroy-Caradoc, 12 cases in Middlesex Centre, 7 cases in Thames Centre, 6 cases in North Middlesex and 1 case in Lucan Biddulph and Southwest Middlesex, respectively.

By age, people in their 20s accounted for 151 patients, or about 21%, in most cases. There are 108 cases in the 50s and 107 cases in the 80s and older.
At least 58% of cases are female, 22% are healthcare workers, of which 83% are listed as female.

On Wednesday, the health unit reported that at least 197 of the local cases had recovered and five died — no changes since the beginning of July.
At that time, there were at least 16 active cases in Aylmer, 7 in Bayham and St. Thomas, 5 in Tillsonburg, and 2 in Woodstock.
158 cases have been reported in the region since the beginning of July, 89 cases this month. By comparison, a total of 83 cases were reported for March, April and May.
Aylmer was hit hardest by the increase, reporting a total of at least 74 cases since the beginning of the Wednesday pandemic, with a case rate of about 987.7 per 100,000.
St. Thomas, reporting at least 36 cases, had a case rate of 92.5 per 100,000.
SWPH had 20,649 tests as of Wednesday. The test positive rate in this region was 1.2%.
Huron and Perth
Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) officials did not report any new cases of the new coronavirus on Friday or three new recoveries.
The total number of cases in the region is 110. There are at least 26 known active cases in the area.
No further details were available as the health unit continued to move to new state cases and contact management systems. It states that it will be Friday or later, before more detailed information is available again.
Health officials reported two new cases on Thursday and Wednesday, 13 new cases on Tuesday and 6 new cases on Monday.
In a release issued earlier this week, the medical unit announced that spikes were due to workplace outbreaks in Bluewater/South Huron, and many cases were associated with clusters within the same household.
“These cases are also associated with a larger spread of cases throughout southwestern Ontario,” said the Health Unit.
It is unclear whether the health unit referred to the spike in the case seen in the local German-speaking community.

Sarnia and Lambton
Lambton Public Health Office (LPH) officials have a new recovery at the end of Thursday, with no new cases or deaths reported.
The total number of cases in the region remained unchanged at 336, of which 299 recovered. Since early June, the death toll has not changed from 25 people.
There are at least 11 known active cases in the county as of Thursday, according to the Health Unit. It’s unclear where the case is, as health authorities refused to disclose that information.
Health officials reported 1 recovery late Tuesday, 3 recovery late Monday, and 4 patients late Sunday.
Starting Monday, masks will be mandatory in closed public spaces of the Lambton Shores municipality, including Grand Bend, Yipper Wash, and Port Frank.
