Strict lockdown rules could be introduced in Oxford due to the “offensive height” increase in Covid, authorities said.
The city recorded 41 cases in the week to 21 August, 26.9 cases per 100,000.
The Oxfordshire County Council said the “measures to put a brake on Oxford’s gradual emergence from lockdown” would be closer than it is now.
The public health director called this increase “anxiety.”
Ansaf Azhar said that people aged 18 to 29 were driving the increase, with people working to stop widening spreads as Bank Holiday approached.

Limitations Placed in Oldham, Blackburn and Pendle in August When it reaches 70 to 90 cases per 100,000 people.
