Coronavirus: Small increase in Kingspark School Covid cluster cases
Kings Park School recorded a slight increase in cases over the weekend
The number of coronavirus cases associated with Dundee schools for children in need of additional support increased from 2 to 40.
King Spark School Closed on August 19 Students and staff were asked to be self-isolated for 14 days.
NHS Tayside said 23 staff, 3 students, and 14 community contacts had tested positive.
He said the number of cases at the other three Dundee and Perth schools remained unchanged.
Two new cases related to Kingspark are staff members and community contacts.
Previously, four positive cases were confirmed at three other schools in the city, as well as at St. John’s RC Academy in Perth.
Self-separation
Last week, students at the Globe Academy tested positive, and a small number of staff and students of personal interest were contacted and quarantined until Saturday.
Two major classes at St. Peter and Paul’s School are being asked to self-isolate until Wednesday after an individual has tested positive.
Children attending the Happy Times off-campus club at Downfield Elementary School are also required to quarantine themselves until Wednesday.
Dr. Erie Hothersaru, chairman of the incident management team, said:
“I would like to thank all the students, staff and immediate contacts who are currently self-isolated, which are essential to prevent further transmission of the virus.”
