Coronavirus restrictions lifted in County Kildare

The Irish government says the number of cases of community-acquired infections in County Kildare is currently 36%, which is similar to the national rate.
Covid-19’s restrictions on people living in County Kildare, Republic of Ireland, have been lifted “with immediate effect.”

According to RTÉ’s report, a national public health emergency team gathered early Monday to consider the spread of the virus in the county.
The group said the epidemiological situation in County Kildare is now about the same as in other parts of Ireland.
The Irish Government recorded 75 cases in the week of August 8th to August 29th, compared with 238 cases of notification from 8th August to 8th August, 1 week to 8th. It announced that 170 cases had been reported by 15th of March and 159 cases had been reported by 22nd of August.
Access to and from County Kildare is prohibited except for the following reasons:
- Going to and from a workplace where you could not work from home
- To attend medical examinations and collect medications and other health products
- For important family reasons, such as caring for children, the elderly, or vulnerable people-excluding social visits
- For agricultural purposes including food production and caring for animals
Cafes and restaurants were closed except for takeaways and limited outdoor dining.
Other entertainment facilities such as cinemas, gyms and pools have also been closed.
Additional restrictions were first imposed on the three counties-Kildea, Laois, and Offery on August 8.
However, two weeks later, it was lifted in Laois and Offaly counties, but due to the large number of Covid-19 cases in the area, it was extended for another two weeks in County Kildare.
