Mentor Hopkins Elementary School closed September 8 after two staff members tested positive for COVID-19. news
Two employees at Hopkins Elementary School tested positive for the novel coronavirus, a mentor school spokesman confirmed on September 7.
The district sent two letters to the parents about the incident over the weekend. The first letter was sent on September 6th, when a test conducted at the university hospital that day informed the parents of the first positive case. The person, who is the administrator of the school, has been instructed to quarantine and will not report commuting, the letter said.
“We will soon Lake County General Health District, And they will implement contact tracking,” said a letter signed by Director Bill Porter. “Anyone considered to be directly exposed would be contacted directly by a public health worker. In the letter, the school district said two other school officials had reported symptoms of COVID-19 and were awaiting results. On September 7, the district sent a second letter to Hopkins’ parents telling them that one of these cases was positive. According to the letter, the employee was a teacher. Parents with students in that teacher’s class were notified by another email.
