Middlesex-London reports two new cases, hits three months without COVID-19 death-London

Despite the significant increase in novel cases Corona virus In Ontario, London and Middlesex, local health officials reported two new cases and one new recovery on Saturday.

People in their 20s are still the largest age group with 158 cases (about 21.3%). There are 113 cases in their 50s and 108 cases in their 80s and older.

On Friday, the Health Unit reported a new case of COVID-19 involving patrons of El Furniture Warehouse, a restaurant along Richmond Row in London.

The health unit said the person spent two hours in the pub between midnight and 2 am on Monday.

It’s not clear if the person is in the restaurant or on the patio for most of the two hours.

The risk of exposure to other patrons was rated low by officials, but the health unit asked everyone in the restaurant during that time frame to monitor themselves and seek testing for symptoms. I have been advised.

“The temptation for post-higher education students to return to our community and have more sociable gatherings or move them indoors when the temperature drops is great,” the statement said. ..

“We cannot underestimate the importance of following public health guidance right now.”

The trailer is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Social Science Center parking lot. The trailer is only open this Saturday.

At least 102 of the regional cases are associated with close contact with another case, and 38 are due to workplace exposure. Twenty-seven are healthcare professionals, 23 are travel, 13 are social gatherings, and one is facility resident.

55 cases are listed as having “unknown” exposure sources.

Huron and Perth

Huron Perth Public Health does not update coronavirus cases over the weekend.

On Friday, MPPH reported that one person tested positive for the new coronavirus while one was recovering.

This brought the total number of cases in the region to 124, of which 117 recovered. Five people have died.

This is the second day of the row with no new cases.

It left the total confirmed number of cases in the region unchanged at 342, of which 314 recovered. Twenty-five people died, most recently in early June.

Three known active cases remain in the region. The location of the case is unclear as the health unit refused to disclose the location.

Health officials reported a new case late Wednesday, reporting no change on both Tuesday and Monday.

The total number of outbreaks remains unchanged at 10, with 8 in elderly homes, 1 in Bluewater Health, and 1 in unspecified workplaces. Sixteen people died from these outbreaks.

Since then, all outbreaks in the area have been resolved.

Health unit figures indicate that 41% of cases are due to close contact with confirmed cases, 35% are associated with outbreaks, and 22% have “unknown” sources. I will. 2% are travel related.

At least 57% of cases involve women and girls. 18% of all cases are listed as healthcare professionals.
