Press Release: Alzheimer’s disease destroys memory. It devastates the family. It is the only cause of death in the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented or treated. But there is hope. The UW Initiative for Ending Alzheimer’s Disease is working to find a cure in collaboration with the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute.
The next Wisconsin Medical Live Stream explores the comprehensive structure of the initiative to end Alzheimer’s disease. You will also learn what WRAP studies are and how biomarkers and breakthroughs in early detection can help prevent or delay dementia. In addition, we will look at high-risk health conditions and outreach programs to support families and dementia caregivers, improve early diagnosis, and work to reduce health inequalities in poorly serviced communities. The presentation will be moderated by Robert N. Golden, MD, Dean of the UW School of Medical and Public Health.
Dr. Sanjay Astana He is the founding director of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) and an internationally renowned researcher and leader in the field of Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Asthana has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health for over 22 years and has published extensively in the fields of hormone therapy, Alzheimer’s disease and gerontology. He has devised and directed numerous studies in the field of dementia and aging research and has collaborated with researchers conducting clinical Alzheimer’s disease research. The main focus of his research is related to the psychopharmacology and neuroendocrinology of estrogen-related gonadal hormones in Alzheimer’s disease. Other major research interests are collaborative research in the area of preclinical advanced biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Sterling Johnson He is a faculty member of the Department of Gerontology and Gerontology and Professor R. Finley, Gene of Gerontology and Dementia. Dr. Johnson is a clinical neuropsychologist with a research interest in brain function in Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. In a longitudinal study of WRAP, he investigates many factors (health, lifestyle, genetics) that lead to cognitive decline vulnerabilities. His current research is central to addressing the goals of the WRAP study, focusing on tau and amyloid imaging of people at risk for Alzheimer’s disease, and Alzheimer’s based on cognitive decline, computer vision, and machine learning. We are developing better ways to identify multimodal imaging markers for disease. Enrich clinical trials, improve study design, and accelerate the discovery of effective treatments for Alzheimer’s disease.

One important advantage is the speed at which information is sent and received. With the help of the internet, the shopping habits of many persons have drastically changed. The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
