Berg County says Cass County does not rise to the “yellow” COVID-19 risk level, contrary to state standards
In counties, including Fargo and West Fargo, infections have increased dramatically in the last three days, including 237 new cases. Cass’ active cases also surged to 480 on Monday, making it the second largest county in the state.
Due to the rise, the now “low risk” counties now meet the yellow designation criteria for active cases and the percentage of tests that returned positive. The county remains a lower designation for the amount of tests conducted on residents, which is the basis of the Third Principles.

Mr. Bergham said Cass would not attend at a press conference on Monday, September 14th. 8 other North Dakota counties At the yellow level for the specific context of the outbreak in the Fargo region.
The Republican governor said many of the incidents in the state’s largest metropolitan area occurred in young people, including students at North Dakota State University, and were at low risk of getting a serious illness from COVID-19. It also reports a high proportion of residents over the age of 70 in other areas of high prevalence, such as Bismarck and Dickinson’s Metro.
“We’re looking at data that underlines top-level numbers,” Burgum said. “Especially the age-related cases are what we are looking at to determine if there is pressure to be hospitalized.”
However, Bergm pointed out that the county could be a candidate for raising risk levels if the surge in cases continues next week.
The governor did not adjust the county’s risk levels on Monday, but said his office would closely watch Stark and Williams counties next week. Stark County, including Dickinson, exceeds the criteria for medium-risk counties in active cases and positive rates.

Burgum again refused to issue state mask orders on Monday Appeal from top doctor..
The governor reiterated that the government relied on “individual responsibility” rather than the government’s request to encourage wearing masks, saying that residents should have the right not to wear masks publicly.
But on another issue of public health and personal liberties, Burgum went in the opposite direction. Governor Threw his support in 2018 Behind the effort to strengthen the strengthening of car seatbelts. Opponent of Bill to strengthen failed seatbelt enforcement During last year’s legislative assembly, residents claimed their freedom not to fasten their seat belts.
Mr. Bergm said he believes he can find a way to logically incompatible his position on the two issues, but by issuing a mask mandate, the general public actually wears a mask. He added that he thinks he will wear less. Mr Bergham said he would fall on the other side of the debate if that was the case with seat belts.
Ah Study from June health problems We conclude that mask coercion slows the rate at which COVID-19 spreads throughout the community.
