A mother from West Berkshire was left feeling “failed” after her daughter resigned from school because she was not tested for the coronavirus.
Having been home with cold symptoms last Thursday and Friday, Matilda was denied admission to school on Monday until he took the test, according to local council rules.
Ms. Bulbeck Reynolds said she couldn’t book a test after trying “almost always” through the government’s website from 9:30 am on Monday.
“I’m sorry for my daughter … I was rejected at the school gate. I felt like a failure as a parent,” a 45-year-old boy told PA News.
The school said Matilda would need to be tested or quarantined for 10 days.
“I’m personally furious at school for not telling me she needs a test when she’s not hot,” added Ms. Bulbeck Reynolds.
“I’m angry at the local council about moving the goalpost without notifying my parents, and obviously angry at the government because of their incompetence.”
