Studies show that long-term loneliness, apart from unhealthy diet and lack of exercise, can lead to the development of type 2 diabetes

Data on these non-diabetic (at the start of the study) healthy individuals were collected from 2006 to 2017.
Research results
After an 11-year follow-up period, the results showed that of all participants, 264 with a high degree of loneliness developed type 2 diabetes.
