Oregon Coronavirus: 266 new cases, 5 new deaths

 


The Oregon Department of Health reported 266 new confirmed and estimated COVID-19 deaths and 5 new deaths on Saturday, bringing the death toll in Oregon to 525 and 30,599.

In Multnomah and Marion counties, the maximum number of cases was 40 each.

Oregon Health Department Friday Released New modeling It suggests that fewer Oregons may become infected in the coming weeks.

Modeling suggests that if the infection rate is constant, the number of infected Oregonia can be reduced from about 360 to 190 per day by October 8.

However, state officials have acknowledged that the modeling released on Friday contained more warnings than usual. Needless to say, the percentage of daily case tabulations and positive tests has increased over the past week.

Note: The latest software seems to slightly underestimate the cumulative cases last week and underestimate deaths since July.

New deaths: State officials announced a revised number of deaths on Saturday after discovering that one death was counted twice due to a misreported date of birth. The previous total was reduced by one death.

A 93-year-old woman living in Lane County is the 521st COVID-19 death in Oregon. She tested positive on August 26 and died at home on September 17. She had an unspecified basic health condition.

A 72-year-old woman in Jackson County is the 522nd COVID-19 death in Oregon. She tested positive on August 28 and died on September 15 at the Providence Medford Medical Center. She had an unspecified basic health condition.

An 81-year-old man in Morrow County is the 523rd COVID-19 death in Oregon. He tested positive on September 4th and died on September 14th. The location of his death has been confirmed by authorities. He had an unspecified basic health condition.

A 97-year-old woman in Marion County is the 524th COVID-19 death in Oregon. She died on May 10th. The death certificate stated that COVID-19 disease or SARS-CoV-2 was the cause of death or a serious condition that contributed to death. She had an unspecified basic health condition.

An 86-year-old man in Multnomah County died of COVID-19 for the 525th time in Oregon. He tested positive on 16 August and died at home on 16 September. He had an unspecified basic health condition.

People in hospital: The state on Friday reports that 106 Oregons with confirmed coronavirus infections are currently hospitalized, down three from Thursday. Oregon is well below its capacity with hundreds of hospital beds and ventilators available. Updated data for hospitalization was not released on Saturday.

Since it started: State officials have reported 30,599 confirmed estimated coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. In total, 603,311 Oregons were tested.
