New lockdown rules for Lancashire, Merseyside, Northwest and Northeast as regional regulations become more stringent
Northwest
Household Merseyside, Warrington, Halton And Lancashire (Excluding Blackpool and Greater Manchester) are banned from interacting with anyone other than their home or support bubble.
Starting September 22, the following additional restrictions will apply to these areas as well.
- Food and drink hospitality is limited to table service only.
- 10 pm curfew at restaurants, pubs and cinemas. The curfew will be set between 10 pm and 5 am
Residents are also advised to follow the guidance below to further reduce infection rates.
- Use public transport only for important purposes such as traveling to school or work
- Avoid attending amateur and semi-professional sporting events as a spectator.
Secretary of Health Matt Hancock said on September 18th:
“Local leaders in these areas are calling for increased restrictions to protect the local people, and we are taking decisive action to support them.
Midland
To Wolverhampton And Audby & Wigston Residents will be banned from socializing with other people outside their homes and supporting bubbles in their private homes and gardens from September 22nd.
