highlight

  • Physical activity is important for people with Alzheimer’s disease
  • All memory loss does not mean Alzheimer’s disease
  • Alzheimer’s disease can start as early as a person’s 40s

World Alzheimer’s Day takes place around the world on September 21st. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of neurological conditions, their causes, symptoms, and management. Alzheimer’s disease is a neurological disorder that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior. Memory loss is one of the earliest symptoms, along with a gradual decline in other intellectual and cognitive functions that lead to behavioral changes. Misunderstandings about illness often get in the way of understanding it and helping those affected.

World Alzheimer’s Disease Day: Here are some common myths that exist about this disease:

Myth 1: Memory loss means Alzheimer’s disease

fact: Sometimes I have memory problems, such as forgetting where I put my car key or not remembering the names of people I met recently. Fatigue can occur for several reasons, including lack of sleep, fatigue, inadequate hydration, and trying too many tasks. At such times, the brain cannot process too much data at the same time, which may lead to forgetting things. Vitamin B12 deficiency, thyroid disorders, and uncontrolled diabetes can also cause short-term memory loss. Patients with severe depression may also complain of false memory loss.

Some memory loss is expected with age, but this does not necessarily mean that some people have Alzheimer’s disease. If memory loss affects your daily functioning and you lack judgment and reasoning, it is probably best to consult a neurologist.

Myth 2: The person’s life is over when he is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease

fact: When someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, it does not mean that life is over, nor is it powerless against the disease. By eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, staying connected and managing stress, you can maintain years of productive, meaningful and enjoyable years.

Lifestyle changes can slow the progression of the disease, slow the onset of more serious symptoms, and help keep your way of life as long as possible. It is advisable to exercise regularly to walk at least 4 kilometers daily, with a healthy heart diet recommended by experts. Stay Socially Connected-Meeting and talking with friends and chatting on social media can also help. Continuing to enjoy social activities can make a big difference in your health and attitude.

Myth 3: Alzheimer’s disease is hereditary

fact: First grade families often live because of the risk of getting sick. However, such outbreaks are rare and account for only about 5% of cases of Alzheimer’s disease.

Myth 4: Alzheimer’s disease affects only the elderly

fact: Alzheimer’s disease can start as early as a person’s 40s.

Myth 5: Alzheimer’s disease is curable

fact: Currently, there is no cure for this disease. There are no proven foods or supplements to help prevent Alzheimer’s disease. However, taking 30 mg of saffron can help delay memory loss. The drug strengthens memory, but it cannot be stopped or reversed.

It has also been found that medical history, head injuries and traumatic injuries can increase the risk of illness. Small trauma, such as a boxer punching in the head for a period of time, also increases the risk.

The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
