Springfield-Green Co. Health Dept. has announced the deaths of eight new COVID-19 people.
Springfield, Missouri (KY3)-Springfield-Greene County Health Department reported eight new COVID-19 deaths in the county on Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Health, 37 COVID-19s have died in Green County this month. Due to these latest deaths, the Department of Health reports more COVID-19 deaths in September than last month’s total.
Health leaders have announced the following COVID-19 deaths:
- Women in their 70s (no underlying illness other than age, regardless of long-term care)
- Male in his 70s (has an underlying illness, independent of long-term care)
- Women in their 70s (who had basic health conditions not related to long-term care)
- Female in her 80s (related to long-term care and had basic health)
- Female in her 80s (related to long-term care and had basic health)
- Female in her 80s (related to long-term care and had basic health)
- Female in her 90s (related to long-term care and had basic health)
- Female in her 90s (related to long-term care and had basic health)
“You won’t lose sight of the people behind these numbers. Each death notice is someone’s mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, or friend,” said the director of Health Clay Goddard. “People who have had many healthy years before them are dying, and we must continue our role to protect each other.”
The Springfield Greene County Health Department has reported 67 deaths from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
The director of Health Clay Goddard suggests some practices to limit spread, wear masks, keep physical distance, wash hands, and encourage everyone to stay home in case of illness. ..
Who is at risk
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have identified some groups at high risk of severe health outcomes with COVID-19, in contrast to others.
These populations include the elderly and individuals with conditions that affect the heart, lungs, kidneys, or immune system. This includes, but is not limited to, cancer, chronic kidney disease, lung disease, obesity, serious heart disease, and diabetes.
Other populations at high risk of serious symptoms include people with smoking, asthma, pregnancy, or high blood pressure.
