The public health team deals with the number of large outbreaks among Scottish students
Over 700 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified in Scotland in the last 24 hours.
Jason Reach, Scotland’s National Director of Clinical Affairs, said the pandemic is now “accelerating” in Scotland.
A total of 714 daily cases is the maximum number of cases confirmed in the day since the mass test started, which is 156 more than Friday’s figure.
The Scottish Government said 11.5% of the new tests in the last 24 hours were positive for Covid-19.
The number of hospitalized patients with recently confirmed Covid-19 has also increased from 10 to 99.
No deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, but one death has been confirmed since the previous day, bringing the total to 2,511.
