Covid-19: 4 new cases identified in South Juist Island cluster

Four new cases of Covid-19 have been detected on the western island, confirmed by the Health Commission.
The cumulative total number of islands in Scotland is the lowest, with only 17 cases detected since the outbreak began in March.
NHS Western Isles said all seven were isolated at home and no one needed hospital care.
However, according to the Health Commission, staff at Taigh a’Chridhe Uile Naomh in Dalibara have been identified as close contacts, and the sanatorium has suspended hospitalizations, discharges and visits.
All staff and residents of the care facility will be tested.
South Uist’s Cothrom Nursery will also be closed after staff have been identified as close contacts until further notice.
Dr. Maggie Watts, Director of Public Health, NHS Western Isles, said: Even if they were subsequently tested for Covid-19 and were negative.
“We will not disclose any further details at this time to respect and maintain patient confidentiality.”
