Covid-19: Castle Bromwich Hotel event banned after “200 people attend funeral”

The hotel was banned from holding events until January after the funeral was held with hundreds of guests.
According to the local council, the mourners attended a funeral on Friday at Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel in Solihar.
Due to the immediate effect, the hotel will not be able to hold events such as weddings and funerals until January 10.
The figures up to September 29 show that the proportion of positive cases of solihull is 79 per 100,000.
The Solihull Council said 200 to 300 people were at the hotel for the funeral.
The venue did not ask people for test and trace details, and no social distance was observed.
West Midlands police said it was called to the hotel and dispersed with police officers engaged in the rally.
The local government said the case was “a clear violation of the rules for mass gatherings.”
Face covers should be worn and the venue capacity should take social distance into account.
Owners of the Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel may appeal the council’s decision through the Magistrates’ Court.
