A young mother given a 12-month survival period after all breast cancer was revealed

The young mother received catastrophic news that it took less than 12 months to live, just weeks after she was told she had defeated her cancer.

Natalie Sanders was first diagnosed with grade 3 triple-negative breast cancer last October after discovering a large painful lump in her right breast.

The 29-year-old patient started eight rounds of chemotherapy, but the treatment was abruptly discontinued in March. Coronavirus Pandemic.

Doctors also found that she had a BRCA gene that increased the chances of the cancer coming back unless she had a double mastectomy. This also had to be postponed.

A mother from Coatbridge underwent breast mass removal to confirm the results of chemotherapy and was told in May that she was 100% cancer-free.

But just a month later, she began to experience breast pain again and was told that it was probably a buildup of water.

After her pain continued to worsen, Natalie contacted a consultant and asked for an ultrasound, mammogram, biopsy, and CT scan in September.

Natalie said: “I’ve been to the breast clinic several times because I always knew how important it was to check your boobs.

“I was given a little bad advice to me, where I generally had pretty rugged boobs and was told that was the way my tissue accumulated.

“I was told not to worry too much if the lump moved. I started to worry only if there was a solid mass that didn’t move.

“After the little boy was born, I felt a pretty big lump on my right chest. It moved and shook, which didn’t cause me any pain at first.

“When my little boy climbed up me and started climbing, he always seemed to catch a lump and I always felt like sitting on the floor.

“I thought I probably had a cyst that needed drainage, so I almost agreed and went to my doctor who sent me for screening.

“Within about 10 seconds of my ultrasound, the doctor said I needed a mammogram. Something is happening here. At that time, they realized it was a concern.”

Natalie soon discovered that she should have been tested for the BRCA gene when she was a teenager, but she wasn’t told.

The type of cancer she developed was closely related to the gene, and both breasts had to be removed to reduce the risk of the disease recurring.

Due to the pandemic, surgery could not proceed and chemotherapy was stopped early, but it seems to have worked when everything became clear in March.

But the next month when her breast pain returned, her world collapsed.

Doctors diagnosed her as grade 4 metastatic breast cancer. This has a life expectancy of 6-12 months.

Natalie said: “They said they would give me radiation therapy to continue if I couldn’t get a double mastectomy by November.

“I came back a month later because I had pain around the area of the tumor, but the consultant was stuck in Sweden, so I went to see another doctor.

“He felt a little and said he thought it was probably a very common liquid accumulation and nothing to worry about.

“Such pain was repeated many times over the months. It wasn’t until mid-August that I started to feel the pain of shooting.

“My chest started to feel different. A week later, I started to feel a lot of pain and had to take more powerful medications, so I called the consultant.

“I ended up calling NHS 24 While waiting for my appointment, they gave me antibiotics because I thought I might have mastitis.

“But when my consultant felt, she said it wasn’t mastitis, and they sent me an ultrasound because they needed further investigation.

“It led to a mammogram, which led to a biopsy, which all led to a CT scan on the same day.

“I was supposed to meet a consultant on Tuesday, but I got a call from a breast cancer nurse on Monday night.

“She asked if I would go alone, because no one is allowed right now, but she said I should take my partner.

“I quickly found that it didn’t look good. The next morning I went, I knew immediately and” I think I’m back, “said the consultant.

Natalie is determined to do her best for her son

“I asked her to tell me that it wasn’t Stage 4, but she burst into tears because I was really close to her and she was completely broken heart.

“It warms my heart because I know I’m being taken care of by someone who has really done everything I can.

“My breast cancer nurse had a broken heart and my partner and I were clearly devastated.

“They told me I had 6 to 12 months, but I can’t accept it.

“I have a little boy. I absolutely have to do everything I can to be with him. I just can’t see him grow up.”

Natalie and her partner, Idress Mohammad, are researching alternative treatments and have been in contact with Canadian hemp oil suppliers.

Fundraising has begun to help young families pay Cannabis oil They want more time she needs to see her 3-year-old boy grow up.

She may not completely die of the cancer with treatment, but hopes that it will give more valuable time with her little boy after good results for other cancer patients. I admit.

Oil costs around £ 1,400 a month and isn’t available to the family alone, and Natalie wonders how much her life is worth.

She explained: “It’s the purest form of hemp oil. It can be procured illegally here, but that’s not what I want to do.

“Several people bought things here and from here before contacting this place in Canada and having an independent scientist test everything.

“Canada Oil has the strongest grades of CBD and THC because it is a pharmaceutical company working on it.

“They can’t guarantee that it kills cancer, but you take the highest grade oils to give you the best hope.

“I can’t get it on the NHS because of the time limit, and when I approached the doctor and the subject, it wasn’t offered to me.

“It may or may not work, or it may only work for a limited time, but for now I’ll try anything.”
