Pennsylvania Coronavirus: 1,036 new cases and 17 new deaths reported

(WKBN) – The Pennsylvania Department of Health has reported 1,036 COVID-19-positive cases and 17 new deaths since Monday’s report. When 672 new cases and 11 new deaths were reported.
This will result in 165,243 cases across the state and 8,244 deaths due to COVID-19.
The number of tests performed during the last 7 days from September 29th to October 5th was 187,157, with 7,381 positive cases. By 10:00 pm on October 5, 23,626 test results had been reported to the department. These results represent the total number of tests performed.

There are 890 patients who are positive for viral antigens and are likely to be tested, and 646 patients who are positive for serology and have either COVID-19 symptoms or high-risk exposure.
To date, there are 1,951,992 patients who have been negative. Among the patients who have been positive so far, the breakdown of age is as follows.
- About 1% are 0-4 years old
- Almost 2% are 5-12 years old
- Almost 5% are 13-18 years old
- Almost 14% are 19-24 years old
- Nearly 36% are 25-49 years old
- About 21% are 50-64 years old
- Nearly 22% are over 65 years old
Most inpatients are 65 years or older, and most deaths occur in patients 65 years or older.More data available here.
The number of cases of COVID-19 has increased significantly in this sector, especially in the younger age group of 19-24 years.
