An additional 19 COVID-19 cases were reported in the Waterloo region as the total number of cases increased to 1,815.

These numbers push the total number of active cases to 129, two more than Monday.

For the second consecutive day, new outbreaks have been declared at retirement homes in the region.
Staff at Conestuga Lodge in Kitchener tested positive for the virus.
On Monday, it was announced that staff were positive at Waterloo’s Pinehaven Nursing Home.

There are four other outbreaks in the area, one of which is the Food and Beverage Department, Aggregation, Day Care, and Cardinal Leger Elementary School.
No new cases have been reported in local schools since Sunday.
Ontario reported a new positive test for 548 coronaviruses, bringing the state to a total of 55,362.
The number of cases on Tuesday decreased from 615 on Monday and 566 on Sunday.
According to a state report on Tuesday, 201 new cases were recorded in Toronto, 90 in the Peel region, 62 in Ottawa, 56 in the York region and 30 in the Halton region.
With seven more deaths reported, the state’s death toll increased to 2,987.
