Being a man, having a low income, having a low level of education, not being married, being born in a low or middle income country. Researchers warn that these are factors associated with the increased risk of death from COVID-19.

“We can show that there are independent effects of various individual risk factors raised in discussions and news about COVID-19,” said Sven Drefahl, a research author at Stockholm University in Sweden.

“Therefore, all of these factors are individually associated with a significant increase in the risk of death from COVID-19,” Drefahl added.

This study is based on data from the Swedish National Health and Welfare Commission on all registered deaths of adults over the age of 20 by Swedish COVID-19.

In a study published in Nature Communications, Drefahl explained that people born abroad generally have lower mortality rates than people born in Sweden.

This is also true if the study takes income and education level into account.

The increased risk of death from COVID-19 in this group remains even after researchers manage conditions such as income and education level.

The study shows that being male, having a low income, and having a low level of education also have a very high risk of dying from COVID-19. In terms of these aspects, this is consistent with patterns of mortality from other illnesses.

The findings show that men are more than twice as likely to die of COVID-19 as women.

Unmarried men and women (including those who have never been married, widows / widows, and divorced) were at 1.5 to 2 times the risk of death from COVID-19 than those who were married.

According to researchers, men generally have higher mortality rates at similar ages, which is believed to be due to a combination of biology and lifestyle.

“The high mortality rate of uneducated and low-income people may be primarily due to lifestyle factors such as finances. Can we afford to prioritize health?” The author, Gunner Anderson, said.

“Similarly, we can explain the increase in mortality from COVID-19 in these groups,” Anderson added.

The research team has also shown in many previous studies that singles and unmarried people have a higher mortality rate from various illnesses.

Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
