Pennsylvania averages over 1,000 coronavirus cases for 11 consecutive days – CBS Philadelphia
Philadelphia (CBS) — The fall revival of COVID-19 continues to spread nationwide, including here in the tri-state area. And today is the first day Philadelphia has renewed its restrictions on rallying to allow Eagles fans at the stadium on Sunday.
Pennsylvania has recorded an average of over 1,000 cases for 11 consecutive days, so today we reported over 1,500 new COVID-19 cases.
As the virus spreads, health officials are worried about increasing the number of people vaccinated against the flu and are working hard. This will prevent the double damage of the infection.

At the church on Lehi Avenue, health commissioners were vaccinated against influenza each year. He said this year is more important than ever because of the second threat from the coronavirus.
“We don’t have the COVID vaccine yet, but we do have the flu vaccine,” Farley said.
The Philadelphia Department of Health has partnered with the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium to provide influenza vaccinations and COVID testing.
Coronavirus cases in Philadelphia are steadily increasing. The increase began with young people socializing without precautions, but now that has changed.
“Currently, the highest percentage is between the ages of 20 and 50,” Farley said. “I think it’s mainly spread to relatives and friends, but some of that spread may be happening at work.”
Throughout the state, Pennsylvania has more than 1,000 positive cases per day for nearly two weeks, making Philadelphia one of the hardest hit areas.
“I’m worried about the increase in cases in Philadelphia,” Farley said. “This is happening nationwide.”
With over 8 million COVID-19 cases in the United States, the average number of new daily cases per week has increased by more than 55% in just over a month.
