Australia launches pre-clinical trial of coronavirus vaccine

Moderna Inc has announced plans to launch testing in Seattle last month at a publicly known facility closest to human testing.

The US government has cut deals with both Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, and has negotiated with at least two other companies to produce large quantities of vaccines.

Israel has reported to Reuters that it has begun testing a COVID-19 vaccine prototype in rodents at the Biochemical Defense Institute.

In Australia, last week, thousands of healthcare professionals participated in a study to see if a century-old vaccine against tuberculosis could fight the new coronavirus.
