Oregon Zip Code with Most COVID Cases, and Other Statistics
People in their twenties continue to see the highest reported infection rates
Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — A weekly report from the Oregon Department of Health reveals the fastest spread zip code and other demographic information in early October, when the coronavirus was most affected.
The map below shows the cities and neighborhoods with the highest number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Boardman had the highest case density, followed by Warm Springs, followed by Ontario. According to OHA, Ontario has a Snake River correctional facility, the largest workplace outbreak in the state, with a total of 498 cases.
To protect patient privacy, less than 10 zip codes are reported as 1-9. OHA combines postal codes of less than 1,000 people into one number (536 for the week until October 11th). There were also 267 cases from unknown zip codes, according to health officials.
Multnomah, Marion, and Washington counties have the most cases as of October 16.
According to OHA, people aged 20-29 continue to be the group with the highest reported incidence of infection, but are rarely hospitalized, accounting for only 0.3% of the state’s reported deaths. Hmm. OHA reports that about 75% of deaths are people over the age of 70.
