1,479 new coronavirus cases in Israel, infection rate 3.7%

Israel posted less than 1,500 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, and the infection rate is currently 3.7%, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday morning.

The ministry said 41,722 coronavirus tests were conducted on Monday, of which 1,479 returned positive.

The number of critically ill patients is declining, at 636, of which 233 are ventilated. The official death toll has increased to 2,268.

The total number of active patients currently suffering from this disease is 23,347, far less than the nearly 68,000 recorded in early October.
