Smith County reports one new possible COVID-19 death, 23 new cases | COVID-19
According to a public health district in northeastern Texas, a 54-year-old Smith County resident from Tyler recently died of COVID-19 as a related cause, with the county’s virus deaths reaching 83.
Of the 83 virus-related deaths, 14 cited the virus as the presumed cause, according to NET Health.
NET Health also recorded 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases, for a total of 4,293 cases. The confirmed recovery rate remained at 3,442.
There are 782 active confirmed cases.
The county has added 57 possible cases. There are a total of 1,765 possible cases and 652 possible recovery.
As of Wednesday, a total of 155 East Texas people were being treated at Tyler Hospital.
As of Wednesday, nine Smith County prison inmates have been actively diagnosed with COVID-19, according to NET Health data.
As of Tuesday, none of the detainees were COVID-19 positive, according to the Texas Prison Standards Board.
One prisoner was killed by COVID-19. According to Rodriguez’s family, Raul Rodriguez, 61, was virus-positive and died in mid-May.
A total of 623 cases of two new cases occurred in Wood County. The number of active cases confirmed is currently 80, and the number of possible active cases is 116.
Wood County virus deaths remained at 26. According to NET Health, three of these deaths are classified as probable.
The total number of possible cases in the county is 175, NET Health reported. The confirmed recovery rate in Wood County is 520. There are 56 estimated recovery rates.
Anderson County has added 13 new cases, for a total of 1,024. The confirmed recovery jumped to 820, but the estimated recovery is now 172, the health district reported. There are 277 possible cases.
The death toll for the entire county remained at 24. Of the COVID-19-related deaths in Anderson County, six cited the virus as a possible cause of death.
These Anderson County figures do not reflect prisoners in Tennessee Colony prisons.
Henderson County has added one new death toll, bringing the death toll to 26. According to NETHealth, one of these deaths cites COVID-19 as a possible cause of death.
According to NET Health, Henderson County added 10 new cases to the confirmed number of 1,213.
The recovery rate remained at 828. The county has 322 putative diagnoses and 5 putative recoveries, NET Health said.
Gregg County added 33 new viral cases, for a total of 2,503 confirmed. The county’s death toll remained at 49. Of the dead, seven are believed to be likely.
According to NET Health, the recovery rate is 2,097.
The health district reported that Gregg County also had 760 possible cases and 371 possible recovery.
The total number of cases in Van Zandt County increased by 2 to 665. There are 192 possible cases. The confirmed recovery remained at 534. NET Health reported that 13 people are likely to have recovered in Van Zandt County.
According to the health district, the county has killed only 28 people, three of whom are believed to have died of COVID-19.
In Rains County, 86 COVID-19 cases have been identified, including 63 recovery and 3 deaths. According to NET Health, there are 57 possible cases and 5 possible recovery.
