93% of black residents in LA County are not willing to get the COVID-19 vaccine when available, social media polls show
New pollster conducted by Black women’s action rallyA total of 335 responses were obtained, indicating that 93% of black residents do not opt for vaccination.
Many of the people surveyed said they “did not trust the vaccine approval process,” referring to a Tuskiggy study in the 1930s that black patients were unaware that they were part of a syphilis experiment.
“Level of distrust … What we found in this poll was that people didn’t seem to trust some of the agencies responsible for approval,” said community activist Mike. Browning said.
In addition, only 2% of those surveyed said they would be vaccinated.
The leader of the Black Women Rally for Action states that it is developing information on COVID-19 prevention and managing the priorities of the black community throughout the county.
“To successfully encourage blacks to get vaccinated, we need to rebuild government confidence,” said Brenda Watson, co-chair of the Black Women’s Larry for Action, pollsters. According to the county’s Public Health Service, 93% of people who died of COVID-19 in LA County have been in underlying health since the outbreak of the pandemic.
