34-year-old man “ after unable to cope with coronavirus self isolation ”
His family said that a man suffering from bipolar disorder had lost his own life after failing to cope with self-isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Daniel Furnis, 34, died last week suffering from a blockade at his home in Waterlooville, Hampshire.

A few days before Furnis’s death, he posted on social media: “There is not enough guidance for people with mental health problems.”
Furnis’ sister, Chelsea, 28, wants his death to raise awareness of the problems facing people with mental health problems during self-isolation.
She said: “Dan has a long history of mental health problems and one of the things he struggled with was one.
“He lived alone, but went out every day. Dan had diabetes and was classified as a high-risk person, so after lockdown he couldn’t go out and I think we stopped from the edge.
“We were worried that he was isolated and in touch, but we couldn’t meet him. We did our best and we were there for him To him.
“I can do much more to help those struggling with self-separation. Hopefully, what happened at Dan can raise awareness of these issues.”
Furnis was diagnosed with bipolar disorder as a teenager and could not work due to his mental health condition.
