A Lincolnshire hospital has declared a serious incident following a surge in coronavirus patients requiring oxygen supply.
The Northern Lincolnshire and Ghoul Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which operates a hospital that spans Grimsby and Scunthorpe, is currently treating 106 patients who test positive for the virus.

Katewood Medical Director said: “Our demands on oxygen supply confirm that the trust has enacted a major incident plan.
“To keep patients safe, we had to restructure many wards and move patients into the hospital overnight.
“We also called for additional nursing staff to make additional shifts.”
The three hospitals operated by the Trust are Diana, Grimsby’s Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital, and Gour and District Hospital.
Currently, there are 6 people in each ICU of Grimsby Hospital and Scunthorpe Hospital.
The trust is also calling on nursing staff to make additional shifts as the virus continues to suffer.
This is the first time this weekend that the number of patients has exceeded the 100 threshold.
Serious incident
Yesterday, the Trust reported five more deaths. Two on Friday and one each in the previous three days.
And last night, the number of cases in northeastern Lincolnshire surged to over 3,000 as the autonomous region fought the second wave, which is much more severe than the first.
