The restaurant buckles under the weight of COVID-19 and workers struggle to survive

She succeeded in keeping the roof over their heads, but without help, her only child would have a disappointing Christmas.
“I’ve focused on being able to pay the rent,” she writes. “You can’t save to give something to your son. He deserves something really great. He’s a good boy.”
The boy’s mother described a selfless child who was pleased to help others, reflecting Globe Santa’s mission. His empathy ranges from seemingly lost and hopeless-homeless men and women they pass by-to fellow classmates facing difficult times.
“His heart is in the right place. He loves to give,” she said in a letter. “He will share whatever he has if he smiles at the other kids. I know Santa gives something. [my son], A little Santa in my heart! “

“Because of COVID-19, I haven’t done much work yet,” the mother wrote in a letter. “I’m a waitress at night and on weekends and attend Bridgewater State University during the day.”
She writes that her shift has been reduced from six nights to one or two nights a week as restaurants adhere to strict capacity limits to limit the spread of the virus.
Besides, the grandparents of the child took care Theirs when she was a waitress. But that has changed. As older people, they are most vulnerable to COVID-19, so the mother now has to hire someone to take care of her children the night she works, furthering her resources. I’m squeezing.
