YPSILANTI, me. – The Washtenaw County Health Department announced on Monday that it will hold a free flu vaccine event in Manchester this week.
From 1 pm to 5:30 pm on Thursday, medical professionals will offer free drive-through or walk-up vaccinations to community members of the Emmanuel United Christian Church on Main Street 324W.
The event was previously postponed, but the department received a full supply of influenza vaccine.
No pre-registration is required to participate. Upon arrival, you will be asked to provide identification with your name and date of birth.

The Ministry of Health recommends that people with health insurance get the flu vaccine from their health care providers or pharmacies, if possible. If you have your insurance card and plan to attend the event, please bring it with you. If possible, the Department of Health will charge the insurance company.
People who do not have health insurance can get a free flu shot. The vaccine protects against four strains of influenza and is given via injectable shots or nasal sprays, depending on availability.
