Ottawa Public Health says there is a shortage of high-dose flu vaccines for the elderly-Ottawa

OPH can distribute doses of the tetravalent (QIV) vaccine at community clinics as long as the state has weekly shipments.
People who are particularly keen on getting high-dose vaccines can call their local pharmacy to see if they have HD-TIV in stock, according to Etches.
However, her recommendation is for older people to focus on getting a flu shot sooner or later. She also quoted a statement from the National Advisory Board on Immunization, stating that there is “insufficient evidence” that people over the age of 65 will benefit more from either vaccine.
