Social Media Campaign Raises Awareness of Type 1 Diabetes – CBS Denver

The Children’s Diabetes Foundation is promoting a social media campaign called # T1Determined. The campaign asks people talking about type 1 diabetes to post on social media with the hashtag T1Determined. This will allow more people to understand what it is like to live with this illness.
“Anyone with diabetes can do anything. It’s really exciting because they recently allowed commercial pilots to become type 1 diabetics,” Davis told CBS4.

One of the key goals of this month and that day is to help people understand diabetes.
“Type 1 diabetes is actually an autoimmune disease that cannot be prevented and you do not cause it. I think there is a lot of confusion between type 1 and type 2,” Davis explained.
